Bunny Surrender Crisis!

If you've grown tired of the Easter bunny you bought without giving it enough thought or you're thinking of surrendering a family pet NOW IS NOT THE TIME. The shelters are full. Our foster homes are full. Please help us help your bunnies by buying us some time and waiting until we have the capacity. If you're willing to Foster-In-Place we can start the process immediately, and you can contribute to the solution.

Please understand that domestic rabbits have been selectively bred for centuries and cannot “revert to the wild.” They are an entirely different species from wild rabbits in North America. “Setting them free” is not only illegal—it is a death sentence for your bunny.

The Easter Bunny Came, Now what?

Every year, thousands of “Easter bunnies” all over the nation will be surrendered to shelters and rescue organizations, because wellmeaning parents and grandparents didn’t think it through before taking home that cute little big-eared ball of fur.

Easter and Easter Bunnies Keep Live Bunnies out of Easter!

Over the next few weeks, thousands of local adults will be tempted to buy an Easter rabbit for a beloved child, godchild, grandchild, niece, or nephew. And a few months from now, our local animal shelters will be, as they are every year, inundated by a flood of cast-off bunnies.
